    On Thursday, the UCP government is set to release first-quarter numbers for the 2020-2021 fiscal year. 

    Premier Jason Kenney announced that Alberta is dealing with the most significant deficit in history; revenue is more than 10 billion lower than anticipated. “It will be well north of the $20 billion deficit mark in part because of the total collapse of revenues emanating from the coronavirus recession,” he said. The provincial government is defending the original budget report that came out earlier in the year because it was based on realistic projection at that time before coronavirus started.
