    6 years ago, Twyla McDougall, a former dental hygienist, started thinking about home-schooling her children but thought you had to be familiar with school curriculums, ridiculously smart, organized, and financially well off. “That’s so not true, and I’m so thankful for that,” she said. As many parents feel anxious about sending their kids to school, home-schooling is becoming a reality for most of them. Home-based education requires more from a parent; they become the teacher, create lesson plans, do their own evaluations, and record keeping. 

    “Home-schooling is more time-intensive and more responsibility than sending kids to class, but also means more control and flexibility,” said McDougall.
