The Government of Bahamas is prohibiting travelers from entering the country as of July 22, 2020. The effort is to prevent further spread of COVID-19 in the Caribbean Nation. Only the United Kingdom, European Union, and Canada are the few countries whose citizens are exempt from the ban and allowed to enter the country.

According to Prime Minister Hubert Minnis, the Bahamas identified 49 new cases when the borders reopened on July 1.

The Bahamas will end flights to America immediately as the United States is steadily beating its daily records of new cases. The decision was made despite the fact that a large portion of the country’s economy is based on American tourism.
