    The end of an era has arrived as the once Iconic phone that once rivaled the iPhone. The Waterloo based company announced it will stop support for many of the old, reliable BlackBerry smartphones still in use. 

     

    Devices running on BB10 or BlackBerry OS will, “no longer reliably function, including for data, phone calls, SMS, and 911 calls,” according to the company. WiFi support will also cease service.

     

    Hundreds of millions of BlackBerrys we used around the world, most notably for government officials and corporations. Barack Obama famously insisted on using a BlackBerry after his inauguration in 2009.
