The Boston Celtics won Game 7 in Miami on Sunday to become this years Eastern Conference champions. They are set to face the Western Conference champion Golden State Warriors. The series will begin Thursday night in San Francisco. During the teams regular-season meetings, each team won once on the other’s home floor.

The Warriors only needed five games to beat the Dallas Mavericks for the West title. The Celtics have a chance to win their 18th NBA championship which would break the tie with Los Angeles Lakers for the most in league history. The Warriors have a chance to win their seventh crown which would break the tie with the Chicago Bulls for the third-most in the league.

The last time these two teams met in the NBA finals was in 1964. Steve Kerr gave his team Friday and Saturday off before bringing them back to practice on Sunday. He explained “I’ve said it many times: You go to the finals, it’s almost a two-month journey filled with stress and fatigue and everything else,”
