Canada is set to receive more doses of vaccines by the end of the week. The country is also close to matching the percentages of individuals that are fully vaccinated in the United States. The government said Pfizer will be delivering 1.4 million doses of their vaccine in the next 7 days. Canada also plans to distribute their supply of 1.5 million doses of Moderna that arrived last Friday.

After the next shipment arrives, officials in Canada expect to have received a total of over 55 million doses of vaccines. The federal government previously made a promise to reach 69 million shots delivered by the end of July. Currently, they say it’s still on pace to meet that target.

As of Monday, roughly 42.7 per cent of Canadian citizens have been injected with two doses of vaccines. This data comes from provincial and territorial governments that use COVID-19 Tracker. The U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention currently note that 48 per cent of the population is fully immunized.
