    Canada had recorded 711 positive influenza cases at this point during last year’s flu season, but this year so far only 17 cases have been reported. 

    Health experts feared that the fall wave of COVID-19 would be worse than the first wave in spring, but it would come simultaneously as seasonal flu, making it impossible for hospitals to keep up. 

    The coronavirus is proving to be worse this fall, with 1,400 people in the hospital and about one-fifth of them in intensive care; however, the flu is not.
