    Hackers stole usernames and passwords to access government services and compromised thousands of Canadians’ personal information, causing the Canada Revenue Agency to temporarily suspend their online services. The federal government called the incident “credential stuffing,” in which hackers use the usernames and passwords from other websites to gain access to Canadians’ accounts with the revenue agency. 

    The suspension of the CRA’s online services has affected many Canadians and businesses since they have seen using their online services to access the coronavirus’s financial support.
