Over 64 per cent of eligible people in Canada have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. But for months, an American cardiologist and researcher Eric Topol has been tracking the vaccine rollout of the coronavirus vaccine around the world. Topol praises Canada for the fast and sudden rise to the top. On Twitter, in a recent tweet, he says “pulling away, setting a new pace and ceiling for 1st dose vaccinations of major countries.

Topol had an interview with CBC News, where he said Canadians are more science-based, less vaccine-hesitant, and less likely to become “anti-vaxx” than those in his own country. Other experts believe it is a mix of factors that have put Canada on track to become the leading country in this vaccine race.

The online research publication Our World in Data has revealed that Canada just pushed Israel out of the wat to top the global pack. Israel has given first doses to 63 per cent of its citizens, only one per cent under Canada.
