Canadians Rachel Homan and John Morris received their first mixed doubles curling win at Beijing 2022 on Thursday. The duo from Ottawa took a victory of 7-6 over PyeongChang 2018 bronze medallists. This counts as a bounce-back as the duo lost to world champions Great Britain 7-6 in PyeongChang.

Homan was shooting with an accuracy of 85 per cent and she didn’t have to throw the team’s last rock because the victory was already secured. Norway started off with a 2-0 lead in the first end but Canada quickly doubled that in the second. By the third end the score was 4-3 in favour of Canada and by the fourth end, Norway tied the lead at 5-5.

Homan and Morris retook the lead in the sixth by scoring one point. Norway managed to close the gap by the seventh making the score 6-6 with one last period. The Canadians pushed to take the eighth end and the match over Norway. Their next match is scheduled for 7:30 P.M.  ET against 2018 silver medallists Switzerland.
