    In California, there was a track and field meet on Sunday for the USATF Golden Games. Justin Knight from Canada ran under the Olympic standard time for the men’s 1,500 meters. He beat the Tokyo qualifying mark by three in a half minutes and received a personal best time of 3:33.41. 

    Knight fell short of first place as Ollie Hoare of Austalia ran a time of 3:33.19. Other Canadians such as Moh Ahmed finished eighth out of ten runners with a time of 3:40.67. 

    From Lucknow, Ontario Julie-Anne Staehli ran the 5000 meters in exactly 15:02 which is under the Olympic standard by eight seconds. In the same event, Vancouver’s Natalia Hawthorn placed third with a personal best of 15:05.91.
