The Canadian Press has projected 26 medals for Canada’s team at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. Specifically, the news source predicts eight gold, eight silver, and 10 bronze medals. In 2019, the Canadian Press forecasted 29 medals, nine being gold, 10 silver, and 10 bronze. That year Canadian Olympians brought back 29 medals, 11 being gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze.

Canada’s lack of figure skaters compared to 2018 is the reason this year the CP is not expecting as many medals. However, 26 medals would tie its haul from the 2010 Games in Vancouver and Whistler, B.C. During those 2010 Olympics, Canada won its second-highest total medals and set a record for gold medals.

Gracenote, a global data analytics company, expects Canada to finish fourth in Beijing with 23 medals, six being gold, six silver, and 11 bronze. A California-based outfit, which generates statistical analysis, picks Norway to top the medal table again. They expect the nation to rack up 46 medals with 21 of the medals being gold.
