    On Wednesday, Canada’s Denis Shapovalov’s losing streak continued as he dropped straight sets in Mallorca. He lost 6-4,6-1 decision to Benjamin Fonzi of France in the Mallorca Championships.

    The 16th ranked Canadian had a first-round bye at the Wimbledon warmup event and this was his opening match. Shapovalov has now lost openers in five straight tournaments. The tournaments were in Mallorca, London, Stuttgart, Paris, and Geneva.

    Bonzi is ranked No. 56 in the world and it took only 67 minutes to conclude the match. Shapovalov is from Richmond Hill, Ontario and he double-faulted six times and had 19 unforced errors.
