Residents in Ontario can start buying cannabis products through Uber Eats making it a global first for a delivery company. Starting Monday, Uber Eats users will be able to place an order for cannabis or smoking accessories at Ontario cannabis retailer Tokyo Smoke. Uber Eats will now be delivering food, groceries, alcohol, and cannabis.

Those interested will need the Uber Eats app downloaded on their device, and then select the “cannabis” category on the app. The user will have to confirm that they are of legal age and then they can place the order. Once placed the customer will have to head to their chosen Tokyo Smoke location in order to pick up their goods.

An announcement released today stated all orders will be completed within the hour. Delivery is not an option at this time. Lola Kassim, the General Manager of Uber Eats Canada said “we are partnering with industry leaders like Tokyo Smoke to offer safe, convenient options for people in Ontario to purchase legal cannabis.
