Even though more than 80 per cent of eligible Canadians have received a COVID-19 vaccination, infectious disease specialists agree people should be careful this year.

    A common concern was, “Is it safe for fully vaccinated people to hold holiday gatherings with other fully vaccinated people?: Dr. Stephanie Smith, an infectious disease physician said “We have to recognize that the bigger the gatherings get that there is an element of risk, even with vaccination, because of the incredibly high rates of transmission in the community.”
