    Erin O’Toole defeated front runner Peter MacKay on the third ballot and has been elected leader of the Conservative Party. The results were delayed by more than 5 hours after a machine ripped thousands of ballots that had to be checked before counting.

    The finals results, which were initially expected on Sunday, finally came out after 1 a.m. on Monday. In his victory speech, he said, “To the millions of Canadians who are still up: Good morning, I’m Erin O’Toole, you’re going to be seeing me a lot.”
