     Many patients avoided seeking treatment from serious illness during the height of the pandemic and now Ontario emergency rooms are getting busier and busier as most provinces begin to enter Stage 3 of reopening.

    On average the wait time a patient has to wait in order to be admitted is about 11.2 hours according to recent data found by Health Quality Ontario. “People stopped presenting to emergency departments for things that they really should have been presenting to the departments for,” said Dr. Erin O’Connor, deputy medical director for the University Health Network’s emergency departments at Toronto General and Toronto Western hospitals
