Drivers in Toronto should expect some delays this weekend as the city holds another pothole repair blitz. Officials explained there will be 40 crews out on Toronto’s expressways, major roads and neighbourhood streets on Saturday and Sunday. The goal is to repair as many potholes as possible.

The work will be a 12-hour shift from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days. In a news release officials said “Residents driving or cycling this weekend are advised to expect minor delays around pothole crews, … The public is asked to be safe by respecting work zones and giving crews space while they make repairs.”

Crews this year have repaired over 70,000 potholes in Toronto this year. Last year they were only able to repair 55,000 potholes between January and April. The city said it normally takes four days for a pothole to be repaired from the moment crews are made aware of the issue.
