Canada’s Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos says the federal government will announce changes to the COVID-19 border measures next week. Right now, the government advises against all non-essential international travel.

Also, anyone looking to travel within Canada by train, plane, or boat must be vaccinated. International travellers are also subject to COVID-19 test requirements. Duclos said it is important for Canada to administer more booster shots to adults.

Duclos explained that the worst of the latest wave of the pandemic has already passed. As a result, Canada will adjust measures and make tweaks accordingly. He also said that the country cannot simply decide to live with the virus and remove measures entirely.
