The France government announced that it opposes the proposed takeover of the French supermarket chain Carrefour by the Canadian store group Couche-Tard.
On Thursday, labor minister Elisabeth Borne said that she is opposed to a takeover, which followed similar comments by Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire, who said that the country’s food sovereignty is at stake.
