On Thursday, it’s going to be a hot, steamy day in southern Ontario with a chance of thunderstorms. Heat alerts are in place for most areas west of the Greater Toronto Area including Hamilton and Niagara. These areas could feel as hot as 40 with the humidex.

CP24 Meteorologist Bill Coulter said “extreme heat continues to bake southwestern Ontario and is spilling into the GTA today, … The first of a couple of cold fronts will push through midday today, possible triggering a few showers over the GTA between 11-2:30 p.m.,”

According to Environment Canada, storms are expected to cut the heat in some areas. The extreme heat is expected to simmer down Friday, however, it will still be warm. Coulter said there will be “much less humid and more manageable weather for Friday.”
