The Greater Toronto Area and much of Ontario are under a heat warning for the next two days. Environment Canada said temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday will be in the mid to low 30s, without much overnight relief. On Tuesday, temperatures are expected to rise about 29 C but feel like 34 C with the humidex.

The national weather agency also said the UV Index will be at about a 10 which is “very high.” The temperatures will be similar on Wednesday with a high of 33 C and a 44 per cent chance of showers.

The warning stated “Hot and humid air can also bring deteriorating air quality and can result in the Air Quality Health Index approaching the high risk category, … The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.”
