Marvel’s Studio is changing, popular TV shows The Falcon, The Winter Soldier, Shang-Chi, and The Legend of Ten Rings are signs that it is true. The new Captain America is acted by Anthony Mackie and Wyatt Russell as The Falcon. This is a big shakeup from the original Avengers’ cast. Shang-Chi is the first-ever Asian superhero to lead a Marvel movie, which will be released in September.
In November, The Eternals film will be released and will introduce new diverse superheroes. The film will have the first-ever openly gay superhero named Phastos as well as a deaf hero named Makkari. Marvels’ president and CEO Kevin Fiege explains “When there are people from various backgrounds and genders, stories are better.”.
The backlash started when Julian Green, a film reviewer, made his followers aware that not only did Marvel’s Black Panther raise topics about race, but, the series The Falcon and the Winther Soldier goes deeper. This brought out supporters and hate and Julian received racial slurs in his direct messages for weeks.
