    Kemptville residents protested over the weekend against the new jail the Province plans to build in the town.

    Residents were upset at the announcement Premier Doug Ford made at the end of August.

    The Ministry of the Solicitor General said it will assemble public consultations on the jail proposal.

    Jim Bertram, who founded the Jail Opposition Group and organized Saturday’s protest, said: “Consultation is only consultation if that consultation stands a chance of affecting what’s going to come down the pipe; we had no opportunity to do that.”
