    On Thursday, environment minister Jonathan Wilkinson presents his path to net-zero when he proposes climate legislation in the House of Commons. 

    The legislation carries out a promise in the 2019 election at cutting greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and Canada to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

    Any emissions produced 30 years from now will be consumed through a natural method like forests and wetlands or technology like carbon capture and storage systems.
