Lyft has announced that the company will be providing protective shields to active Lyft drivers to offer additional protection during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to the new barriers, the company provides drivers with hand sanitizer for their vehicles as well as requiring both drivers and passengers to wear masks at all times.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, Lyft designed a partition shield made out of polycarbonate material. The company’s goal was to produce a product that can be easily installed and removed on the full range of vehicles which make up their fleet.

According to reports, Lyft has distributed around 60,000 partition shields to vehicles.
