Starting Friday, masks will be mandatory in both indoor and outdoor public spaces in the town of Banff. A town spokesperson explained in an emailed statement that it is believed that the town is the first in Canada to make masks mandatory in an outdoor pedestrian zone.
A pedestrian zone was created by closing off vehicle traffic on Banff Avenue to give those on foot more space for physical distancing.
