Recent data has shown more than half of all flights from some of Canada’ major airports are being cancelled or delayed. A data strategy agency based in Fredericton, N.B., named DataWazo has been tracking the airports over the past months. It noticed Canada’s over lengthy airport delays due to the increased summer travel and not enough airport staff.

DataWazo owner Ray Harris said “there was some kind of hope for a reprise when the mandates were lifted on the 20th. That hasn;t been seen in much capacity yet, … THe numbers are about the same pre-20th and post-20th. It just doesn’t seem to be getting better.”

On June 20th, the federal government removed the requirement for domestic and international outbound travellers to show proof of vaccination when using plane or train. The tourism and airline sectors pushed back this mandate as they believed it would help increase staffing levels.
