    As the Czech Republic report a case on Monday in their team, another athlete at the Olympic Village has tested positive for COVID-19. The Czech beach volleyball player Ondrej PeruÅiic could miss his first game on Monday after testing positive COVID-19. PeruÅiic and his teammate are scheduled to play against Latvia in their Olympic opening game. 

    The Czech leader Martin Doktor said they would ask to postpone the game until the infected player is eligible to play. The athlete said he has been vaccinated and is the second member of the Czech team to test positive in Tokyo. The first case was reported on Saturday in one of the teams official’s.

    Two South African men’s soccer players had tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday. On top of that, the U.S. gymnast Kara Eaker had tested positive on Monday in an Olympic training camp. The 18-year old Eaker was vaccinated two months ago according to the coach, Al Fong. She is the first American athlete to test positive and she was rooming with others.
