Starting October 18, 2021, the trip from London to Toronto is expected to take roughly 4 hours. The GO train service will be implemented in London to start a pilot project with daily routes to Toronto. There will be additional stops in between at St. Marys and Stratford and the total trip is expected to take four hours.

The province announced today that this new service owned by Metrolinx would be operational on October 18.  It explained that one train would depart early in the morning to Union Station and would return in the evening.

Associate Minister of Transportation, Stan Cho said “Today’s announcement to extend GO train service to London is part of our transportation plan for Southwestern Ontario, providing another option that will benefit individuals, families, and workers in the region,”

The province is still working with VIA Rail and CN to extend high-speed transportation services. In July, politicians at the federal level promised improved service in London but did not come through with any financial commitments.
