    The Lavender Book is a crowd-sourced app created by the American National Black Justice Coalition and Out in Tech. The app strides to record safe spaces for LGBTQ2S+ and people of color.

    Over ten years ago, there was a Green Book that allowed African Americans to safely travel the drastically segregated United States. That idea was reimagined into the Lavender Book with a few tweaks to make it more inclusive.

    Specifically, users will be able to narrow down places through various filters. They can choose filters like whether American Sign Language is spoken, gender-neutral restrooms are available, or if it is wheelchair accessible.

    This year alone, over 100 bills were introduced in 33 states that abolished some of the rights for transgender people across the country. This includes limiting their participation in sports or outlawing gender-affirming treatment to minors.
