For the first time since September 1st, Ontario health officials reported just 120 new cases of the novel coronavirus. Specifically, the province logged 114 new infections on Monday a decrease from Sunday’s 166 new cases.

The rolling seven-day average dropped to 173 as last week it was standing at 223. The Ministry of Health processed 23,695 tests in the past 24 hours, resulting in the positivity rate being 0.9 per cent. The last time the province saw cases this low was the first day of September when officials reported 112 new cases.

The vaccine rollout in Ontario continues to get people inoculated. The province will be entering stage 3 of its reopening ahead of schedule. This will allow more businesses to reopen and restrictions will be altered.
