    On Tuesday, health officials in Ontario are reporting 613 new infections of COVID-19 signifying a decrease from the weekend. There were 627 new infections on Monday, 741 new cases on Sunday, and 728 reported on Saturday. Currently, there are 136 patients in hospitals due to COVID-19 and 133 patients are being treated in intensive care units.

    The seven-day rolling average rose to 675 today as it was at 579 at this point last week. The Ministry of Health says the positivity rate is at 3.1 per cent as it processed over 19,859 tests in the last 24-hour period. Ontario announced last week that 85 per cent of eligible Ontarians aged 12 and up are considered to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

    Of the total cases reported today, 266 are in fully vaccinated individuals, and 288 were in those unvaccinated. There were 72 new cases in Toronto, 35 cases in Peel Region, and 47 cases in York Region. Muskoka logged 73 new cases, Ottawa reported 32 cases, Windsor-Essex reported 32, and Waterloo logged 40.
