On Monday, health officials in Ontario are reporting 325 new infections of COVID-19. This represents a decrease as on Sunday there were 423 new cases and 378 new cases on Saturday. Sunday was the first day since mid-June when the province reported more than 400 new infections in one day.

The seven-day rolling average is up to 283 as it was at 189 at this point last week. The Ministry of Health says the positivity rate is at 1.5 per cent as it processed 15,805 tests in the last 24-hour period. Currently, hospitals across the province have 113 patients with COVID-19 in intensive care units and 83 of them are using breathing ventilators.

The province is currently in Step 3 of its COVID-19 reopening plan. Indoor dining, gyms, hair salons, movies, and more are allowed to open with limited capacity and restrictions. The government just opened up the border to fully vaccinated United States citizens. The travellers will have to ensure they meet all the requirements prior to booking a ticket.
