    On Monday, health officials in Ontario are reporting 3,043 new infections of COVID-19 however, the number is an estimate due to testing restrictions. Ontario has just passed over 1,000,000  lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases last week. There are at least 2,983 patients in hospitals for COVID-19 and 583 people are in intensive care units.

    For the first time in just over two weeks, Ontario is reporting fewer than 3,000 people in hospital with COVID-19. The Ministry of Health says the positivity rate is at 14.7 per cent as it processed over 15,000 tests in the last 24-hour period. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the province has identified 1,033,294 lab-confirmed cased of the coronavirus.

    Since December 2020, more than 30,000,000 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the province. There were 603 new cases logged in Toronto, 175 cases in York Region, and 431 in Peel Region. The province also reported 105 cases in Windsor- Essex, 201 in Ottawa, and 118 in Hamilton.
