There were 390 logged on Tuesday, 306 on Wednesday, and 417 on Thursday. Currently, there are 265 patients in hospitals and 163 of them are being treated for COVID-19 in intensive care units.
The seven-day rolling average dropped to 465 today as it was 573 at this point last week. The Ministry of Health says the positivity rate is at 1.4 per cent as it processed over 35,905 tests in the last 24-hour period. Of the cases reported today, 334 of them involved people who are either unvaccinated, partially vaccinated, or have an unknown status. There were 162 new cases in people who are considered fully vaccinated
The province released its vaccine passport on September 22, making non-essential service available to those who are fully vaccinated. There were 74 new cases in Toronto, 60 cases in Peel Region, and 28 cases in York Region. Windsor-Essex logged 40 new cases, Durham Region logged 15, and all other regions reported fewer than 30 new cases on Friday.
