    On Thursday, health officials in Ontario are reporting 4,098 new infections of COVID-19 however, the number is an estimate due to testing restrictions. Ontario passed over 1,000,000  lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases last week. There are at least 2,797 patients in hospitals for COVID-19 and 541 people are in intensive care units.

    The province said that 207 of the people in ICU are fully vaccinated, 179 are unvaccinated and 19F are partially vaccinated. The Ministry of Health says the positivity rate is at 13.2 per cent as it processed over 28,493 tests in the last 24-hour period. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the province has identified 1,043,923 lab-confirmed cases of the coronavirus.

    Since December 2020, more than 30,000,000 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the province. According to the province, 5,901 more cases of the virus were resolved on Thursday. The province reported 286 resident cases and 79 staff cases in long-term care settings across Ontario.
