    On Monday, health officials in Ontario are reporting 887 new infections of COVID-19 signifying a decrease from the weekend. On Sunday the province reported 1,184, Saturday they logged 1,053, and 1,031 new cases on Friday Currently, there are at least 137 patients in hospitals for COVID-19 and 168 people are in intensive care units.

    The seven-day rolling average rose to 940 today as it was at 783 at this point last week. The Ministry of Health says the positivity rate is at 3.5 per cent as it processed over 25,981 tests in the last 24-hour period. Of the cases reported today, 373 involved people who are unvaccinated and 426 were in people who are vaccinated.

    According to Ontario, 11,295,706 people in the province have received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. There were 139 new cases logged in Toronto, 41 cases in Windsor-Essex, and 60 in Peel Region. The province also reported 37 cases in Durham Region, 55 in Ottawa, and 60 in York Region.
