    Pharmacies continue to have supply and demand issues with this year’s flu shot. 

    On Monday, many people have spoken up on social media, saying that they’ve received an email informing them their appointments were canceled due to a lack of vaccine supply. 

    Jennifer Baker, chair of the Ontario Pharmacist Association, said that pharmacies only administered about 20 per cent of the flu vaccine this year.

    “Because of the strain on the healthcare system, and the ways in which people are looking to receive their flu shot and looking to receive healthcare, we’re seeing a really increased demand in pharmacies,” Bake said, “at this point in time, pharmacies have seen over a 500 per cent increase.”
