Ontario started Step 3 of its reopening plan on July 16 which allowed indoor dining, and places such as movie theatres and gyms to open. There are currently 91 people in Ontario intensive care units who tested positive for COVID-19. The Ministry of Health says the positivity rate is at 1 per cent as they processed 13,600 tests in the last 24-hour period.

There were 37 new cases in Toronto, 12 in Hamilton, and 13 in Peel Region. Fourteen public health units have no positive COVID-19 patients and the remaining municipalities have less than 10 infections.
