    On Friday, Ontario reported 2,998 new cases of COVID-19 and 100 more deaths. 

    Health Minister Christine Elliott said, “Locally, there are 800 new cases in Toronto, 618 in Peel, 250 in York Region, 161 in Waterloo, and 153 in Niagara.”

    Since the pandemic started in March 2020, 5,289 people have died, including 407 in the past week.
