The education ministry announced school boards and child-care settings across Ontario will receive 49,000 HEPA filter units. Ontario says it will offer more children greater protection against COVID-19

On Monday, they specifically said that 40,000 air purifiers will be made available to school boards. The remaining 9,000 filters will be available to child-care settings. Education Minister Stephen Lecce said that ventilation improvements should be treated as a critical priority.

Lecce said that after the province announced it will provide 73,000 of the filters and other devices. The Ministry of Education said it will reach out to school boards and child-care settings to discuss distribution and delivery. The province said this new commitment will affect roughly one million children in the province.
