Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announces the news that Ottawa has come to an agreement where provinces are set to administer more than $19 billion in funding to help prepare for the second wave of COVID-19 as well as help with the re-opening of the economy.

Trudeau explained that the money will only be accessible to provincial programs that follow the seven federal government priorities.

The prime minister also shared that there is precise support designated for municipalities who have had a struggle with the costs of operating during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Some of the priorities include safe child care and improving COVID-19 accurate testings. “We have to make sure that there are enough child-care spaces for (parents) who don’t have paid sick leave,” explained Trudeau.
