Canada’s biggest airport, Pearson, is wiping out 500 jobs due to the striking reductions in demand for air travel because of COVID-19.
The Greater Toronto Airports Authority explained that it will not occupy 200 open positions that are currently available. In addition to that 300 positions will be wiped out through voluntary removal and layoffs.
The cuts that are happening represent 27 percent of the airports pre- pandemic personnel.
