Thousands of people are expected to gather at the Plains of Abraham for the Pope’s visit as well as musical performances. Pope Francis is planned to arrive in Quebec City on Wednesday to try and advance reconciliation and healing between the Roman Catholic Church and residential school survivors in Canada.

The Pope will stay in the Quebec City area until Friday and then will travel to Iqaluit. He is set to arrive in Quebec City around 3 p.m. at the Jean Lesage International Airport. Those who want to witness the pontiff on his drive to Old Quebec can stand along De l’Aeroport Road.

The Pope will make his way to the Citadel and will meet with Governor General Mary Simon and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. He will address the public at 4:45 p.m. and it will be broadcasted and put on giant screens on the Plains of Abraham.
