The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has eased restrictions for fully vaccinated individuals. This allows them to stop wearing masks in outdoor crowds and in most indoor facilities without social distancing.

There is still guidance for wearing masks in certain indoor settings such as buses, planes, hospitals, prisons, and homeless shelters. However, it clears the way for other venues such as in the workplace and schools.

U.S. President Joe Biden said “Today is a great day for America” during a meeting with Rose Garden addressing the new restrictions. Biden and his staff went without masks and encouraged Americans to get “fully vaccinated, you no longer need to wear a mask.” said Biden.

Individuals who are not vaccinated are still required to wear a mask indoors and in outdoor crowds. The issue is there is no guaranteed way for a business or others to identify those who are vaccinated and those who are not.
