    Covid-19 briefly froze Canada’s private real estate market, but now it has gone back up; unfortunately, the stock market equivalent is not. The average selling price for homes went up by almost 17 per cent in July, with the national home price index going up by 7.4 per cent. 

    On the other hand, investors are having an awful time; the iShares S&P/TSX Capped REIT ETF, trading under the ticker XRE, went down by 23 per cent.

    At this rate, the Canadian EFT will experience its worst year since the 2008 financial crisis.
