    A research team at the University of Exeter in the U.K. is trying to answer how plastic ends up in the ocean and how it gets there by using satellite tags. 

    The research team places satellite tags inside plastic bottles to see how plastic travels through rivers and eventually ends up in the ocean. 

    The new study is part of a National Geographic expedition aimed at finding a solution to plastic pollution.
