Following the arrival of severe weather in Toronto this afternoon the city is receiving numerous reports of power outages and flash flooding.

For about an hour a heavy thunderstorm slammed the city with gusts of wind up to 100 km/h on the west side of Toronto, according to the weather advisory. Between 50 – 70 millimeters of accumulated water were reported in some parts of the city.

Toronto was placed on tornado watch for a brief time but the warning is no longer in effect, CP24 reports.
