Students working with the Dalhousie Space Systems Lab have manufactured the first satellite made in Nova Scotia. The satellite is soon to be launched into space which will be an Atlantic Canadian first. In 2018, many universities received federal funding to construct a nanosatellite.
Teams of students from Dalhousie and the University of Victoria were the first to finish. The team from Dalhousie is set to launch its satellite to space. Their creation is 10 by 10 by 20 centimetres and weighs less than two kilograms.
